(Trick created by Paul Escolar) This trick is considered to be the sequel to Red Clover, so I suggest you learn that trick before attempting Orange Tulips. You’ll start this trick with a houdini drop hold. Okay, the opening move is taken from Red Clover and is kind of hard to describe. Insert your right thumb into the loop of string that’s on your right index finger. Now drop the back string off of your thumb. Swing the yo-yo around your left hand in a clockwise direction and land it on the back string of your left index finger. I hope that made sense. From this position, you are going to do a quick lil’ pop-up, which is actually one of the most difficult moves of this trick, IMO. The strings going between your right and left index fingers create a nice triangle. Pop the yo-yo up through this triangle. Let the yo-yo fall behind the triangle, and land it back on the exact same string segment it was on before the pop-up. Drop the string off of your right thumb and drop the front string off of your left index finger. The string formation should look less messy now. Okay, there is a "loop" of string on your right index finger, but your finger is in the wrong position. So, put the loop on your right thumb and then back on your right index finger – but now your index will be straightened out. From here, you are basically going to do a Spirit Bomb dismount ( note that there aren’t any strings on your wrist though )…dunk the yo-yo around your right index finger in a counterclockwise direction, landing it on the back string. Drop the front string off of your right index finger and also the string on your left index finger. You will now be in a trapeze. You are now going to do a magic drop that lands in a wrist mount. Don’t worry, that’s easier than it sounds. Set up for a magic drop with your left hand, but instead of the string going around your thumb and index finger, it’s gonna go around your thumb and wrist. Aight, there should now be a string segment running from your yo-yo finger to your left thumb. Pull this string out with your right thumb. Now do a magic drop, just as you would for Kamikaze. After landing it, there will sort of be a string around all four fingers on your left hand. Just drop that off and you’ll be in a wrist mount. From an overhead view you’ll notice that all the strings of the wrist mount form two triangles that are running between your hands. Swing the yo-yo around your right hand in a counterclockwise direction. As the yo-yo completes its circle, let it fall through the triangle that’s closest to your body. As it does, drop the string off of your right thumb. Now drop the front string off of your right index finger. Pop the yo-yo up in the air, let it fall behind everything, and land it back on the string you popped it off of ( note: this is easier if, as the yo-yo is in the air, your point your left pinky and ring fingers towards your body ). Time for another Spirit Bomb dismount…dunk the yo-yo around your right index finger in a counterclockwise direction, and land it on the back string segment. Drop the front string off of your right index finger, but do not drop anything off of your left hand. You now have a trapeze with a mess around your wrist. Pop the yo-yo off of the "trapeze" and around your right hand in a clockwise direction, intercepting the string with your right middle finger. As with the wrist mount earlier, the strings on your wrist form a couple of triangles. Swing the yo-yo towards your left hand and up through the triangle that’s closest to your body. The yo-yo will just fall down behind everything. Keep swinging it around back towards your left hand and in front of all the strings. There is one string segment coming from underneath your wrist. Swing the yo-yo up in front of that string and then land it on that string. Now drop the string off of your right middle finger and do the first underpass from Spirit Bomb. Dismount as you usually would from a wrist mount. |
