DUNCAN YOYOS

I'm a writer / editor. In 2003 I was asked by my editor-in-chief to write about yoyos and the anime Super Yo-yo since she knew I collected yoyos. So I surfed a lot of yoyo sites and was drawn even more to yoyos. This 2004, I decided to try out some yoyo tricks since I always come across trick links when I surf for yoyo links.

I stumbled upon Duncan's hardcore series of yoyos. After a couple of weeks, as if to answer my prayers, Bankee Trading started distributing Duncans. The Duncan Crew Singapore paid the country a visit during April 2003 with Steve Brown nonetheless. Sometime thereafter I joined FlipSpin.

Although my first encounters with Duncan yoyos via the Bumble Bee (then later on with the Throw Monkey and Flying Panda) were sort of traumatic (emotionally and physically), I wanted those new releases and try out freehand and offstring too. I wasn't disappointed. I recently purchased a Freehand, and I must say it works mighty fine!

These guys respond like a dream! Maybe it's the friction stickers (I still blame the Bumble Bee's friction disc for nearly taking my eye out, though). But seeing the guys at FlipSpin made me realize that it's not just the yoyo but also the yoyo-er. Seeing those guys at FlipSpin also made me drool over other yoyo possibilities (read: Lyn Fury, Hitman, diabolos, etc.) My wish... I wish that Yoyojam and Dif-E yoyos would release their products here in the Philippines too.
